Oh no, we lost another one. Sleep well, John Hurt

It feels like we are losing so many well known and highly respected actors lately. RIP John Hurt,

And Mike Connors too

Mannix? Oh no… :frowning:

Loved Hurt in I, Claudius. Everything stopped so we could watch it every week.

Indeed. It feels like this forum is turning into obituary column.

Such a brilliant actor. I’ll never forget him in Alien, though I still have to avert my eyes during that scene.

Add Barbara Hale (Della Street) to the list.

This really makes me sad. When I was a kid, I had a huge crush on Mannix. When we were in 7th grade, he attended a wedding at my best friend’s (Armenian) church, and we met him… He seemed much like Mannix, very friendly and easygoing. It was a big thrill for us.

We enjoy watching the old Perry Mason and Mannix reruns. Loved both Mike Connors and Barbara Hale in their roles. Della Street is a great character, loved her voice. Perry Mason had such a great cast. All gone now.

John Hurt was such a talented actor. His role in the Harry Potter movies wasn’t big, but he really owned the role of Ollivander. And yes, he was quite outrageous as Caligula!
