Ohio Boys Suspended for Farting on School Bus

Ok, now I have heard of everything! This is funny. Imagine, on the college application where you have to fill in if you have ever been suspended and the reasons why and what you have learned from the incident

PLEASE WARN YOUR KIDS!
:D

This reminds me of the “clam fart” thread by the kid who got into Yale. So maybe this Ohio 7th grader is destined for greatness? :)

*edit: Here is the link. A cc classic http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/470497-clam-fart-oh-my-god-what-did-i-do.html?

The article I read was funny too, but mainly because the kids mom was “offended” because she had recently been hospitalized for gastro intestinal issues. (I don’t find her medical issues funny, just that it cracks me up that she took it as a personal affront)

This article makes it a bit clearer that the school felt that the students had been doing it on purpose to cause a rukus and had previously been warned by the bus driver. If it was my kid I would have kept a low profile in fear of it ending up in the national news and on discussion forums!

There has to be more to the story than this
Come on. 13 yo boys have been “farting” for laughs for centuries.

I have always LOVED the clam fart thread.

^^^
Me too. I have it bookmarked. lol funny.

A suspension sounds too severe. Couldn’t they have just given detentions or community service?

Cleaning some toilets in the school might have been the perfect punishment.

jym626 - that thread was hysterical - one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. I can’t believe I never read it before. I was almost crying.

Googling on clam flatulence, I learned the following:

This raises interesting philosophical questions, akin to “if a tree falls in the forest, but no one hears it, does it make a sound?”

Really? Hold a fart in for an hour? I’m a very polite grown woman, but I doubt I could do that. How in the world can he expect a 13-year-old boy?

Imagine, on the college application where you have to fill in if you have ever been suspended and the reasons why and what you have learned from the incident

you never know, it could be the elusive hook they are looking for
self confidence, freedom of expression, risk taker, etc.

DougBetsy, technically speaking, you are correct. But with our mom- or dad-radar, let’s be honest here. What do you think the chances really are that a 13-year old boy was trying to hold it in? We’re talking about a demographic that puts arm-pit sounds into the realm of high comedy.
