Applied!!
Here is my son’s profile. Would love to get your take on his chances:
OOS (Utah)
GPA: 3.94 UW / 4.4 W
ACT: 34
ECs: Multi-year baseball captain (All-American honorable mention but not playing in college); National Honor Society; Humane Society volunteer; and others
On-track for IB diploma and bi-literacy seal (French)
Through Junior Year: 3 APs / 6 IBs / tons of Honors classes
Intended Major: Political Science
His stats are somewhat similar to my D25’s who was accepted last year with $15.5K/year merit, so he probably has a great chance. She applied as a business major.
DS applied:
OOS
GPA 3.89 UW / 4.26 W GPA (9th-12th grade), 3.89 UW/4.29 W (10-12th grade)
(In Ca, the public colleges generally look at 10-12 grades only, not sure if Ohio looks at the same or 9-12, so including both above)
SAT: 1450
ECs: Average ECs (clubs etc), strong record of volunteering for non-profits, some part time work experience/entrepreneurship
Through Junior Year: 6 APs / 3 DEs /1 Honors classes
Intended Major: Finance
Any thoughts on chances of admission and merit aid ? Thanks!
Lol, I think I just responded to you on the Purdue thread. My D25 with similar stats received $15.5K/year merit as on OOS student.
My sons stats are very similar!
anyone hear?
In state is released 12/13 and OOS 1/24
S26 applied EA to Fisher. Just ran into this information page for OhioState that says they use SAT superscores and thus submit all scores.
In SAT Send Scores, it says only the highest score is accepted for OhioState and auto selects the highest score. So my S26 sent only the highest score and we used Common App so we never saw the ohiostate page before. Can anyone help square these two contradicting info?
Is it too late to contact the admissions? S26 is OOS. Highest Score: 1440 Superscore: 1490.
In my D26’s portal it shows both SATs she sent and her superscore. OSU requires that you send scores from College Board, so I would send them asap if I were you.
Have your child go to their College Board account immediately and send whichever tests make up their superscore. Pay the $$ to rush it. IMO:). Send a note to admissions about your mix-up and that you have rushed scores. I am sure it will all work out…good luck!
yeah, we did all those yesternight after fallwasbrutal confirmed.
I think the new superscore will still be considered because he’s OOS and they’re probably just finishing the in-state apps. Good-luck!
