Ohio State Fisher or Virginia Tech Pamplin

Hello,
Of the ones I got admitted to, I have narrowed down to OSU Fisher (Business) and VT Pamplin (Business IT). OSU gave me National Buckeye scholarship ($13.5k/yr) making it almost same cost as VT. OSU didn’t give me honors but gave MMC Scholars. VT is Honors.
I am from VA - born is Columbus and dad did MBA at Fisher, so know the area and school. Visiting VT this weekend.
Fisher’s ranking vs VT’s proximity to DC (for job prospects) makes the decision hard.
Any insights please?

What do you ned to do to keep that scholarship for all four years?

Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or more…

The scholars program at OSU is only for incoming freshman. My D liked it. You can join honors at OSU later, so I wouldn’t let being in Honors at VT vs OSU be a factor. Getting a free H&S (honors & scholars) t-shirt on the other hand, that’s enough reason to be a buckeye.

“First year Business students interested in honors must complete 12 hours of course work at Ohio State, have a cumulative GPA of 3.5, and have an interest in taking honors course work. Eligible students will receive an invitation (by email) and will be required to complete a Fisher College of Business Application for Honors Enrollment.” https://fisher.osu.edu/undergraduate/admissions/eligibility-and-status

We are getting close and this is becoming so difficult!

Ohio State-Fisher.

@bizdock You should make your decision based on the academic program of the business schools (not the rankings—they are both ranked in the top 50 undergrad business programs; your success will be based on how well you do, not which school you attend) and compare and contrast the courses you want to take at Ohio Fisher in Business information systems versus Business Information Technology at Virginia Tech. Also compare the other major and minor specializations and courses that you may want to consider taking and possibly majoring or minoring in las a fallback. Another consideration is that it may be easier to get internships and jobs in DC if you go to VTech. I wouldn’t put too much weight in Honors or Scholars at both schools. Business major is difficult enough without worrying about honors courses. Other considerations are cost and vibe/how you feel upon visiting each campus.

Thank you @trackmbe3 @Publisher! We live in nova so surrounded by hokies. We visited VT last week and liked it very much. But being born in Columbus and being carried in a car seat and stroller inside the Fisher classrooms and going to the horseshoe for dad’s commencement, put some buckeye blood in me as well. Lol!

@Bizdock What did you decide to do? How are you liking it?
