My son has got the offer letters from Purdue, PennState, Ohio State and Virginia State Universities. He has been offered the Engineering as major in all universities. He has a dream to pursue the Mechanical Engineering. His Sat1 score 1950, Toefl 89, Sat 2030 with a perfect score of 800 in Maths2. Please let me know which university will be the best for his engineering under-graduation studies, being an international student?
I can’t speak for Virginia Tech (I assume that’s what you mean), or Penn State however, in my opinion any of the schools will give him an excellent education in engineering. Engineering is a much larger part of Purdue University than at OSU and I believe they are better set up to help him find employment after he completes his degree. However, OSU is stronger in more areas academically than Purdue. If he were to choose another path OSU might be better. Purdue is in a college town, OSU is part of a larger city. He will have been accepted to Purdue’s First Year Engineering program and will choose his degree program in the second half of his freshman year. Acceptance into a specific program is predicated on him passing his engineering prerequisites and possibly his GPA depending on his intended major.
