Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2024 Admission

If they are still doing what they did a couple of years ago, you’ll get a card and an email with information on Buckeye Bound days later this month.

Please note I started a new thread for admitted students to keep this thread more focused on application status updates.

Has anyone heard of acceptance into the Scholars program? I called and they said the first round went out on Monday?

*Acceptance not asking for preferences.

The 2nd EA decisions come out this week, so I thought it might be helpful to recap what happend the first time.

Early in the day (morning and some early afternoon): Some applicants got an email to set up their new Ohio State emails. All of these people went on to be accepted.

Mid Afternoon: Rejections rolled out early. No acceptances in this round.

8-9pm eastern or so: In the todo list section, a request for final transcript appeared. All of these students were accepted and all got the email earlier in the day.

9-10pm eastern or so: Acceptances started to roll out on portals.

This is how it was back in December, but it could change. Just an FYI for you all. Good luck!

I wish they would just do one time and send them all out! This is so hard for our kids.

Same! It was weird for my son when classmates had heard and he had not. Does anyone know is it by major, college or just totally random? He applied for a Scholars program too but it sounds like they have made decisions on that too so it doesn’t sounds like that was a factor. We are OOS.

Agree! We are OOS also and few friends heard last round. I also wonder was it random, did they just have too many to go through? And, what is the % that were accepted last round and this round? So nerve wracking.

OOS . … thinking the same… really wish he had received his YES into Fisher BEFORE Christmas…it’s the one school that he has truly done everything possible … his best grades, dual enrollment in business pathway, 2 yr part time job, spent 2 weeks on campus attending Buckeye Pre-college enrichment, LOR from OSU Prof…good luck to us both!

It seems to be totally random. Just based on who they can review before December.

Totally agree, we are OOS and my daughter was accepted for Fisher but also know people who are waiting from our state (Wisconsin). She did apply early(ish) - end of September not sure how early you applied is a factor or not just seemed random to us too. Good luck to all waiting!

is he going to accept the OSU Fisher offer?

100%… no doubt… he has a few safe schools, and some targets in hand- awaiting MSU Broad ; PSU UP deferral… but given his affinity for Columbus and his recent end to end experience on campus this past summer it’s the one school that I think fits him like a glove… academically, socially, geographically, alumni network …all the boxes. We’ve walked the campus twice with him on two separate trips, once last President’s day and once during Buckeye Precollege… and it’s the one.

We’re leaning towards OSU too—but also waiting on Virginia Tech…as we’re very interested there too.

UT-K board is heating up… just noticed this: a lot of buzz… hard to ignore this as a positive sign… right up there with the disappearing #PSUbound?

I didn’t see many admitted case in this thread, especially computer science and engineering.

My son was admitted for engineering in the December round.

I was admitted engineering in December round, just deferred from Boulder so idk whats up with that.

My OOS daughter was admitted engineering in December

Maybe Ohio State cares more about scores, Boulder about unweighted GPA.
