ok it's march how much of the class of 2019 is set and how much is left to be decided?

ok we have the early action and regular decision kids who have put down deposits and are in. haven’t seen to many rejections posted on c.c. so does that leave us with still a large amount of students who were deferred who will be admitted or rejected? what percentage of the class do you think has been shaped already?

At this point I think they should have accepted more than half of the total projected acceptances.

I like to think that most of the students that got rejected most likely applied on a whim, and probably didn’t care enough to follow the forums or report back to us.

It is really hard to say. But since the admitted student visit (Campus Day) will be over soon, I guess probably more than half of admissions have been announced. Nevertheless, I know an in state student with ACT 33 was still waiting for response a couple weeks ago. They must be behind schedule this year.

don’t you think it’s accepted students who have yet to accept admissions is what slows the process down.

@newman22 - absolutely that is what it is. Being that most of the RD decisions will be released by the end of March, students will be making up their minds and putting down deposits or denying their acceptances around mid-April. That is a large driver of why everything takes so long.

@newman22 Absolutely not. Most of the admitted students would not response until April, particularly those going to decline the admission.

That’s what I’m saying. It’s accepted students who have either not accepted or declined admissions. Many won’t make submit their decision to later into April. If they indicated their decisions now (not saying they should as they need to wait to see all their options), Admissions would be able to proceed quicker with decisions on remaining applicants.

@wayneandgarth They would not know the yield rate until May 1. So whatever number that has responded would make difference in the decision on the remaining applicants until then.
