Ok…I may be just jumping to conclusions since I dont have the letter in my hand, but cornell just mailed my stepmom a packet of acceptance after i was rejected in April!!! It makes no sense??? I wasn’t on the waitlist…they said i was rejected! I did opt for the guaranteed transfer thing for 3rd year…but this letter, according to my stepmom, did not mention that!!!

HELP MEEEEE…I can’t stand the suspense…why are they doin this to me after I already decided where I want to go!!!

maybe your stepmom hates you and is messing with your head?

it should have been mailed to your or had your name on it. You applied to cornell, not your step mom

perhaps cornell made a mistake when you were rejected and this is correcting it.

call and ask, it might be a wierd freak mistake

i would advise assuming its a mistake for now, calling and confirming and checking things out. It’s better to be pleasently suprised than dissapointed about something you know is irrational.

we’re all rooting for you (unless of course this is BS and its you screwing with our heads ;))

Yeah… UCSD did the same thing to me…
First, they sent me a rejection letter. Then, they sent me a letter of acceptance along with a letter of apology… But, it was too late… I was feeling betrayed and frustrated…

dont take an offended stance though! like, out of 6000+ acceptances, there have to be ony a few that get screwed up. It’s unlucky to be part of that, lets say, 0.15%, but at least you know you’re accepted!

Didn’t Cornell have a problem like this a few years ago, when they sent every single applicant an acceptance letter by mistake? If I recall, the paper admissions letters reflected the true decisions.
