I am planning to apply to a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, or something similar that’s business and engineering combined. So I am not sure that after the degree, where I will be heading, maybe engineering company, industry, or banking.
Can I be honest and write this into the Personal Statement? Or should I write what they might want to hear?
Thanks for your advice!

I think u cud say something like " I would like to combine my passion of engg and mgmt and hence would like to pursue higher studies in engg mgmt "
do u really need to bring up where u want to land to after ur mba?

I would only do it if everything else in your application is really solid…Engineering management will probably be more interested in things outside of just GPA/GRE/research experience.
A good idea might be to narrow down 2 fields you would be in and explain what you bring to them.
This is all assuming you are applying to a top 30 or 40 school…

Urrjun: like you said, this program is pretty broad, and the concentration can be in anything from engineering to business. So I think I should focus on the fields and explain my preparation for it.
The schools I look at are pretty much in top 40 engineering schools, with good business schools.
The ones I look at are Dartmouth and Duke. But I don’t know if it’s very difficult to get in or not. Do you have any idea?

Instead of saying that you’re not sure about your goal, I would say that you were very excited by the broad range of options available to you, or about options x, y, and z. This conveys that you do not have a specific goal in mind, but in a more positive manner.
