Two friends and I, all Boomers, were discussing this at breakfast the other day. One friend said she would be incredibly angry if her kids said that to her. The other friend (a psychiatrist) said her kids wouldn’t dare and, I agree, hers wouldn’t. I said that I would laugh and say, damned straight I am and proud of it. Well, last night, one of my sons said to me: “OK, Boomer.” and I responded “Damned straight, you millenial wannabe (born in 1996). I AM a Boomer and we are the best and I am PROUD of it!” He was so shocked that, for once, his usual wisecracking mouth just hung open. Later, I heard him telling his brothers, born in 1994 and 1999 that “Mom just turned that OK Boomer thing right back around on me!”
