So I just got accepted at UCSD as a transfer student from a community college. I read the admissions contract in the portal and they are asking for all transcripts from all institutions I have ever attended, and that my admittance can be revoked if the transcripts do not match my application.
The thing is I took a couple of classes at another community college almost 8 years ago for one semester but not seriously… A german class and a political science class. But since I have taken both of these classes again at my current community college and gotten As in both of them I did not think I needed to put the old ones on my application.
Now that I am reading this admission contract I am worried that I have made a terrible error. I do not know what do do. Is this bad? What is the proper course of action?
Send the transcripts from the other school. They’ll be able to see you attended on the National Clearinghouse, so they’ll find out anyway. You may want to call them and ask if 8-year-old credits count. They probably won’t take them, but they’ll likely want the transcripts anyway.
…and then they will see that you took German and poli sci again and did well. So send all the transcripts even the other CC.
Yes, whenevery you apply for admission to a degree program at an accredited college or university in the US (or for a job that requires all transcripts) you are obligated to provide offical copies of all transcripts. No matter how old. No matter how ugly. No matter how few college credits (here’s looking at you half-credit phys ed course). No matter hwere in the world you took those college classes.
Lots of us have old ugly transcripts. What matters much more is that you also have newer better transcripts to offest the old, ugly ones.
Do you think they are likely to rescind my admittance because of this? I called the admissions office today and explained that it was a mistake and that I’m going to submit all of my transcripts but they refused to give me an answer.
Whoever answered the phone probably isn’t the one with that kind of responsibility. You will need to wait and see. Hang in there.
