Older Kelley Transfer

I am considering transferring to IUB Kelley in the fall and would appreciate feedback / suggestions on my situation.

I am 26, married to a 2007 IU grad.

I currently work for a prominent national real estate company managing a luxury high rise building in Washington DC area (about half mile from the pentagon). 11 people work for me and I am responsible for a $100+ million dollar asset with P&L responsibility of $8 million. I have 6 years work experience (4 years as a manager). Sufficiently to say I currently earn around 40-50% more than a starting salary of a newly minted Kelley grad.

Frustrated with my potentially lack of upward mobility and concerned about being pigeonholed holed into property management career I began working on my college degree in 2009 (right after high school I traveled the world for 3 years, worked for a non-profit, attempted an intentional business venture). I currently have 30 hours complete with a 3.9 GPA (including Mirco, Macro, Accounting 1 /2 and English 1/2 ) at community college (NVCC – yes I did consider transferring to UVA but based on my wife’s familiarity with IU and the closeness to family it seems more appealing).

My first question / concern is because of my age / experience would I be able to take advantage of the opportunities Kelley has to offer and how would I fit in with fellow students, and perceived by faculty. Further, what would be my chances of landing a position with similar responsibility upon gradation? More than likely, I plan to immediately pursue a grad degree (MBA / MSRED or MURP) but I would like to keep my options open.

I am nervous about tackling school full time and the difference between community college and IU. I underachieved in high school (3.4 GPA, 24 ACT) but since I proven to myself that I understand what it takes to be successful in the real world.

thoughts?

Regarding transferring into Kelley, I understand you must pass 3 out of 4 admissions classes and maintain at least a B average (no B-). What would happen if I transferred 2 out of the 4 classes in? Would I have to re-take one at IU to gain entrance into Kelley?

I am now working on completing the math requirements. I hope to transfer Bus. Cal in and take Finite at IU. I know Finite is tough but if my wife (a sociology major) can get a B then I can! Would you have any other suggestion for classes to take before getting to IU?

I appreciate any other thoughts or feedback – thanks!
