Older students

I have been out of school for 40 years. I have a BA and have worked for the federal government for 28 years. In my retirement I am thinking about going back to school. Thinking about law school. But I have no idea where to start looking.
What are the pros and cons? Any ideas??.

The biggest con is the enormous hit on your bank account with no monetary return. Why law school and not a master’s degree in a similar field?

I can’t think of a pro. Perhaps you can. What would be the purpose of that? Are you already working with legal stuff contracts and it would expand on your expertise? I know someone who did a lot of govt work and worked with legal aspects of certain materials and was considering going because the JD would compliment that. Figured he wouldn’t be as dependent as most students are on getting into a top school, because regional would work with this plan. But decided not to because of the cost still too high.

If you’re just looking for something to do then look into local universities life-long learning options. Much less expensive and you can take any classes that interest you.
