I’m taking econ 1 in summer C, so I need this textbook written by Krugman. Since the 2nd hand (older version) textbooks on addall and amazon marketplace are so much cheaper than in UCLA store, I wonder if they are acceptable replacement.

If you can check the requirements of the class (syllabus), you can see if you NEED the newer version. Basically, if the class requires you to do homework problems from the book, you probably need the newer edition. If all you need is content, you are probably fine getting the older version. It might be a bit annoying if the prof goes off the book during class though.

in the summer syllabus it requires the 2010 version of krugman microeconomics, but that’s not even in the store!

What I meant is look at what is required of the textbook.
