I’m curious… What other schools do Oliners get accepted to, and what do the numbers look like in the cross admit wars?

We probably share the most applicants/admits with MIT (no surprise, eh?) but not too far behind would be places like the Ivy League schools, CalTech, Rice, Stanford, Harvey Mudd, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, Tufts, RPI, Duke, Rose-Hulman… to name a few.

Of course there are regional trends as well, i.e. students applying to their state flagship institutions (in many cases, honors programs, if available) as well as more regional private colleges and universities.

Also keep in mind that Olin attracts students with diverse interests (outside of math and science!) and so there are always those who’ve been admitted to some of the best liberal arts and sciences colleges - such as Amherst, Williams, Wellesley and Swarthmore - as well.

Hope that helps! :)

My daughter, Olin '07 grad, applied/was accepted at Carnegie Mellon, RPI, and Ohio State. MIT—grad school this fall! :)
