^Apart from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth and Amherst, that’s the policy for internationals asking for Fin Aid for every single private or public college/university. Internationals who pay their way get placed in a separate pool from those who’re asking for aid. It’s a well known fact. East coast/west coast, no difference. Don’t mislead yourself and the others to think that there’s a same policy for everyone because that’s a misconception a lot of internationals are under. Liveulife, u indian? You’re not international, and all your posts are in the india forum…and you’re a new member, yet your posts… shrugs weirddd
Oh, yes, how could I forget about that internal button of yours? The one which lets you develop a different/more rude/arrogant personality on an anonymous forum as compared
to your ‘real life’ one?? The one which suddenly converts you into a wonderful person as soon as you log off CC? Hm…I wonder where my button is.
You seriously expect us to believe that you’re a different person offline?!
And by liking I didn’t mean for us to want to friend you on facebook. General liking, that you would have for any common acquaintance. Do you think your opinions would hold any weight if everyone hated you…no matter how pertinent and helpful they actually are?
Really? I didn’t mean just the India forum. When I’d initially gotten my acceptances, I spent some time on the Penn forum too, and your posts weren’t taken too kindly there either. What were you doing going to the penn forum and just happily blasting their school, and then later expecting everything to become ‘fine’ just by saying something along the lines of ‘oh just so you know…while I just spent my last ~10 posts *****ing about penn to the ultimate, I’m considering it for transfer’? And then you come to the harvard forum and say you “technically rejected” harvard by not applying, conveniently assuming that you’d get accepted to all the schools you applied to.
And while you might blast the social hierarchy at penn what with all its “wannabe” secret societies, and wharton domination, aren’t you the same person who thinks Princeton is the ultimate heaven? Hello?! I rejected Princeton because of the social segregation amongst the student body because of the stupid eating club culture that differentiates between those who participate in eating clubs and those who don’t . I’d have probably bickered to get into the best club possible (I forget its name, but I don’t care so yeah) but I just didn’t approve of how it created the worst social hierarchy possible. And similar to penn, Harvard has finals clubs, and yale has secret societies. Every school has something exclusive…but none as bad as Princeton.
Let’s all just start preaching philosophical knowledge unasked randomly all over the forums.
His/her unnecessary post (and darthspawnus’s off track post) triggered my unnecessary post.
Forget it! All I meant was that if I had opened a thread wondering, just simply wondering, if my state level prize in declamation was worth putting on the application when all the national and international debaters would be applying too, I would hate it if someone launched into huge posts preaching about why the experience is more important than the frickin award (as if I don’t know already) that too…when I haven’t even asked about it.
I liked Liveulife’s post on ILOVEFEDERER’s thread, but I found these unnecessary and out of the way and therefore silly.
