Best of luck to Rachel as she tries to train and compete at the world level in ice skating while also studying chemical engineering at Stanford. She’s gonna need it. I don’t see how it will be possible to do justice to both, but she seems committed to trying. My S was able to get the A’s in high school AP classes, but that was a piece of cake compared to the work at Stanford.

I might very well be in the same major.

ChemE will be a tough major though… since it has one of the highest course requirements.

If Owen Marecic can do HumBio…

^ or if Andrew Luck can do civil engineering…

^ & ^ to both of the above. Owen Marecic is an example of a stellar student athlete. Apparently he just got one of the Dean’s awards too.

Luck is architecture, by the way, not civil engineering. I believe I remember reading somewhere that he would like to design stadiums after his football career is over.

^ architectural design is in civil engineering, and requires lots of CEE classes.
