OMG decadence!

I was trying to research that topic but all I got was gay sex websites. :frowning: Does anyone know a good site or even a novel about American or maybe European decadence? And I just love the way they dressed!

What era? You should always go for Thorstein Veblen’s Theory of the Leisure Class–he coined the term conspicuous consumption (correct me if I’m wrong). There are TONS of treatments of modern consumerism/excess out there to read…try to change your search term from “decadence.”

To be honest, the excitement came from this:

I’m not really sure what kind of decadence is that, I thought it was something Southern from 19th century, but I really don’t know.

If you don’t trust their info, they have links too.

gay sex websites?

Try removing “gay sex” from the search bar.

OK at first I searched “southern decadence” because I wanted something American. Turned out, “southern decadence” was a gay parade thingie in New Orleans. LOL.

pinkcrayons makes the best threads. That’s all I’m going to say.

Well I love you all too, but I still haven’t gotten a reply!

Marie Antoinette=decadence

What a coincidence, I’m in the process of reading her biography!
But that’s another sort of decadence… I know it’s silly, but I want to know what I can read about something like this:
