On Campus Interview

My S has his tomorrow. What can we expect? Can he wear a polo and jeans? He is also hoping to sit in on a class. Very exciting!!!

Polo and jeans are fine. He can expect to be asked about his high school experience, his interests, what he’s looking for in a college, etc.

I got through it this summer…
These will appear for sure:
Why Yale? (!!!)
Tell me about your school…
What do you do outside school…
Potential major/interests…

Make sure he has a question or two to ask that don’t take two clicks on the Yale website to answer.

Dressing casually is fine. I went with a shirt tucked in my jeans.

Thank you. The interview was great. He dressed in a sweater and jeans, asked a ton of questions talked about his interests and experience and hit it off with the interviewer. But oddly enough, the interviewer never asked him “Why Yale?” I obviously was not in the room, but I think that his questions and answers probably took care of that one on its own. Now he just needs to finish the application. Fingers crossed!!
