I think we’ve all probably heard of this kind of person before… I didn’t spend more than 10 minutes on homework every day for my first two and a half years in HS…

Managed to pull straight up halfway through junior year, ended 4th quarter with 96 average, It’s prob 91% overall Junior year.

Can anyone chance me for some pretty average-above average engineering schools?

Rensselaer Polytech
Purdue
Lehigh
Case Western
Pittsburgh University
NYU
Georgia Tech.
Rochester institute of Technology
Penn State

And any more suggestions in the central-NE area?

My states are:

Cumulative average: 91% (3.55)
SAT: 630 CR,740 Math, 690 W (Will take again for 700 CR and W)
SATII: 770 US History (Will take Math II)

APs: US History jr year (4, maybe 5?)
Chemistry sr. year
Calculus AB sr. year
Gov sr. year
Macro sr. year

I have about as many As as Bs, and my grades improve by a couple % overall each year, I’m hoping that my rigorous sr. schedule will show colleges that I’m not still a lazy bum.

Would do something creative for essays, above average recommendation letters.

Any thoughts guys? I’ll chance back!

EDIT: I forgot, I wrestled every year for my school team, varsity for 2 of the years so far, will be 3 next year. Did Summer wrestling camp and clubs during the school year. Some minor tournament placings but nothing major, but I did throw in a massive amount of time.

I agree with above, I think you have strong chances of getting into Penn State, and Purdue. Your SAT scores look really good, all you have to do is try to bring up your GPA and I think you’ll do just fine.

Yes I think I meant NYU Poly, but I heard it’s not too great so maybe I’ll study something else there, haven’t done too much research on the place.

So you’re saying with CR 700, RPI, GT, and Lehigh will all be match/high matches?

Also, what would be some good reaches to give a shot?

Already taking 4 APs next year, and it’s too late to add in AP Phys. And besides, I’d rather not commit academic suicide by taking Chem and Phys at the same time.

Any ideas for what I should stress in my essay? I have some religious stuff and wrestling ready to put in, but should I acknowledge the fact that I didn’t care the first few years and now I do?
