One month until college. What to do?

I am a transfer student and am leaving for college in 30 days. I will be about 3 hours away. What are some things I should do in the meantime to better prepare myself for dorm living/college life. Any input would be beneficial, thanks!

Shop all the great holiday season deals and get stuff for your dorm

get a seasonal job, at least you’ll have some money saved up

make sure everything’s good to go with your car

learn how to do things you might not know, but need to know

learn about the city you’ll be living in

In addition to learning about the city you’ll be in… research which are the safer parts of the city. You never know when this knowledge will come into good use!

Also, if you are bringing a car, I agree with October47. Otherwise, do a bit of research on public transportation/buses in the meantime. I’m not sure about the area you’ll be in, but at least in Seattle, we have some ‘blacklisted’ buses that students say NOT to take unless absolutely necessary because of the higher rate of crime on those particular routes (ie. getting mugged).
