So the next time Sen. Reid is complaining about somebody else’s wasteful spending (there is plenty to go around), let’s see if his nose grows.

Yes, train travel is a waste…considering the Presdient said we are too addicted to foreign oil I would think using more trains would be a smart thing to do

Razorsharp, Harry Reid is a member of my immediate family. He and my mother grew up together in Southern Nevada and are first cousins.

I have known Harry most of my life, and in high school, I worked on his political campaign when he was running for the Senate the first time in 1974 against Paul Laxalt. He lost by less than 600 votes, but went on to serve as the state gaming commissioner in 1977, a position that subjected him and his wife to death threats. I doubt if you or anyone else who might enjoy ripping on this good man would take a job like that. And, I doubt if you will ever know the depth of his genuine commitment to public service.

Please move your discussion to a forum (out of College Confidential) where I will not be personally affected by the political diatribes of those who do not know this man as I do. I respect and admire him very much.

Slugg–
I’m just curious: If a member of the Bush family is offended by the stuff that’s routinely posted about W on CC, are they entitled to tell the offending posters to post elsewhere? I’m sure that some of them admire and respect W very much. Harry Reid is a public figure, and he gets what he gets. I think he’s a twit. You are free to disagree.

Slugg-don’t like it don’t read it. He’s fair game as a fairly opinionated public official.
