What are your thoughts on Bard College’s Immediate Decision Plan which gives applicants the option of hearing back a decision after just one day? i think it’s a very innovative way to look at the admissions process, since students get to visit bard in person (to ensure a proper match) and participate in a philosophical seminar through which they are evaluated by the adcom. this way, they can show adcoms, despite how they seem on paper, what they’re truly about and what they can contribute to the table if admitted. while i realize that this plan may not be the best option for certain applicants who are better off not showing themselves, i think that other LACs should nonetheless present this option for those who think it may help their case for admission. how come bard is the only one so far to adopt such an ingenious process (or have i just not heard of any similar ones already in existence?)
