One of our very own....published in the WSJ!

Of course, we expected nothing less from this exceptional young lady who was a member of our community…

[Animal House at 30 - WSJ.com](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124605877163763579.html)

Congrats to E.E.!

I wish she pointed out that you can’t hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn’t you blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn’t this an indictment of our educational institutions in general?

And isn’t that an indictment of America? I won’t stand here and let you bash America!

(awesome movie)

ldmom, I saw the article as well but wasn’t sure if bringing it here would violate privacy issues for the young woman. Nonetheless, kudos to her.

Congratulations to Woodwork’s daughter FountainSiren/Dorothy_ParkerX!!! How exciting for them both. Surely she must be the youngest ever Wall Street Journal editorialist.

Congratulations, Emily! Your prodigious intelligence and rapier wit are missed around here;)

^^As is that of her father’s, poet… though some here seemed to have been unable to distinguish between them, as I recall.

I’d also like to add my congratulations to E.E, for what they’re worth.

“That boy is P-I-G pig!” Still a commonly used phrase in the ld household. ;-)

btw…I remember all that confusion over identities cat (lol … was anyone else getting a chuckle out of all the conspiracy theories?)

That’s our girl!!! Way to go Emily.

“That boy is P-I-G pig!” Still a commonly used phrase in the ld household. "

In ours too!
“Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?”

With a son rushing next year at D, I have got to hear all about the Greek scene. I find it ironic that the whole recycling and green evironment policy has helped kegs make a comeback at the parties.

Still the best line from the movie is

"Hey you f@#%$ up you trusted us!!!

^^snorting with laughter! (One of my favorite lines…rofl.)

I can’t wait to see the next article from our very own FountainSiren!

Sending good thoughts to her and her lovely folks! I believe the cyberworld is a little sadder a place without both her, and her dad’s written posts here.

It is too bad about the identity confusion issue you speak of, ld. :(

I saw it on the day it opened at the early afternoon showing. I knew about it from reading National Lampoon.

I was in a fraternity in college that was right in the middle of the Omegas and the Deltas, from a behavior standpoint.

Favorite Line - “Seven years of college down the drain!”

yes lgm - the mistaken identity conspiracy theories led to an unnecessarily bad outcome did they not?

I have a feeling we are going to see a lot from fountainsiren. I predict much fame and fortune for this one! (No pressure dpx! )

The “mistaken identity” issue reminds me of one of my own favorites from the movie:

“Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”

Congratulations to Emily on her Bartley Fellowship. (Although I fear the subject matter of this particular essay is somewhat of a waste of her not-inconsiderable talent. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from her on meatier subjects in the future.)

True, Kluge.

We all have to start somewhere when we are beginning our careers, don’t we?

Isn’t that the truth, lgm?

While I’ve seen it referred to as “Rupert’s rag” by the cognoscenti here, the WSJ is a good bit more than a rung or two off the bottom though, isn’t it?

Good for her.

I for one enjoy the WSJ and read it daily.

Good for you, too, PG.

I’d like to think you’ll get even more value for your money, now that you have a chance to enjoy Emily’s wit again.
