Online classes

If I take online school my senior year will the effect anything?

It could affect if positively if you get an A and your local school doesn’t offer the class, but don’t do it just to take a random class. If you take an online class, hopefully it is AP or similar, so it moves you forward by your senior year. It can also help if you are trying to catch up in a subject so you can take AP by your senior year, for example, Algebra II or pre-calc online so you can take Calc AB or BC your senior year. I have read that students that are actors or pre-Olympian sometimes take online classes in order to stay on pace for graduation while they are traveling for their jobs or for athletic training. Generally, though, I don’t read too much on CC that an online class helped a kid get into a highly selective school … usually the online type classes are taken to supplement what regular school can’t offer. So in conclusion, it depend on what class and why you would be taking it online.
