Online colleges that give a lot of Pell Grants?

Does anyone know which colleges give a lot of Pell Grant?
I am a transfer student, but the last college I attended gave way more Pell grant out, I think double what the other did. They probably give you the highest you are eligible for. But this one college gave about double!?
If anyone knows, please post.
Maybe it just had to do with my class, that I was a junior at the time, I don’t know.
I need to attend online right now so looking for an online college as I live nowhere near colleges right now. I don’t want to attend online forever, just one semester, maybe two tops. For now I have to go online :frowning:

Thank you happy holidays

A school is either a Pell participant or not. You get what you qualify for, not ‘double’ because the school thinks you are a nice person or good student.

Moreover, I would never recommend attending online college and planning to transfer the credits, unless you know, where you are transferring to and can verify the credits will transfer in advance. Traditional colleges tend to be skeptical of online ones.

If you are a junior, be aware that most schools have a minimum residency requirement to earn a degree. You usually have to stay at the same college for two years and/or earn a minimum number of credits from the school giving the diploma to graduate. A random online semester when you are already a junior may not be very helpful.

No school can “give double”. Pell Grants are from federal taxes and the amounts awarded are strictly determined by your EFC and whether you’re a full time, 3/4 time, 1/2 time student.

Maybe the amounts you saw differed based on the number of credits you were taking at the time.

The online school sounds shady. They probably gave you a “discount” to make you think you were getting a bargain.

All colleges are required by law to give the same Pell grant to the same student for the same number of credits - the exception is that a very low cost college may have an adjusted Pell amount, but that is not the norm.

Do you have a college you are planning to attend? It might offer online classes and then you won’t have to transfer them.

Maybe I was a junior and they gave me more of a pell grant? I don’t know. The school didn’t cheat, that is not what I meant.
I can’t afford college and transferred. It might be possible to go to college solely on the Pell grant!
It’s $5900 a year or something like that, most colleges are way less than that if you take 6 credits or go part time.
I have already used up all my student loans but didn’t graduate and I am penniless and can’t pay a thing right now.
Parent dumped me in a parking lot years ago, never recovered.
I had a full scholarship to a prestigious University ! And enough loans left to graduate.

A student who qualifies for a full Pell grant of up to about $5900 only gets it if taking a full time course load for the academic year, @Applesarered .

@Applesarered

Again…checking for clarity…

Are you saying you have used 212% of your Pell eligibility AND have borrowed the direct loan aggregate amount for undergrads…and you don’t yet have a bachelors degree?

If so, please explain.

If you go less than half time your student loans will come due as well.

I saw that, yes you are right! Thanks. They change the amount if you go 1/2 time.

Guess just apply where you want to go and if the grants come, they’ll be there, don’t look for the grants first, that is backwards.
