So i’m taking Political Science 1 at a local junior college online. All that is assigned in the class is read, and take the online tests. I’v been spending hours and hours doing study guides, taking notes, highlighting etc, but I can’t seem to get above about an 80% on the exams. The questions are incredibly detailed, so it’s hard to memorize certain facts because they are easy to overlook.
Has anyone had to deal with this, and if so, how!?

Everyone that took online courses at my highschool simply used their notes and such on the test.

Yeah I used my notes too, and its not helping as much as I thought it would
Maybe i Just need to be more organized…idk, the tests are uber hard though

Ha, I used my notes on my last precalc online test. I know this stuff, but karma must have been kicking my butt. First time I took it–70%. Second time I took it–55%. I don’t know what my problem was.

Perhaps the notes are hindering you guys? If you guys are relying on notes (not completely you socalscott) then you guys most likely do not have a complete understanding. I’ve never taken online courses, but the apparent solution, to me, is to achieve a strong understanding of the material. Once you have an understanding, it should become easier to solve the detail specific questions.

Oh, I knew what I was doing. (Actually I just found out today I wasn’t suppose to use notes.) I was just referring to mine just to make sure my formulas were correct. I get fairly decent testing anxiety though, so that had some play in my score.

Here’s one nice little tip: DON’T MESS WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR!

try studying and reviewing ur notes before the test. even though its an online class, u have to understand the material to do well on tests

I read, and re read, and re re re read the chapter, and ended up getting a high B, so i’m somewhat content.
We have the midterm next week though.
