Online recommendation?

<p>The link above is the directions for “Electronic Submission of the Application” at Yale. It has the PDFs for the teacher evaluations and school reports, and says at the bottom of the page “Make sure that the two envelopes sent from your school…” I took this to mean that even for online applicants they do not want recommendations to be submitted online…? I thought that submitting recommendations online would be easier for all involved since there’s no need for printing multiple copies, getting stamps for many envelopes and such, but then I noticed this. Any thoughts?</p>

<p>you can submit recommendations and such online if you use the common app (mandatory for yale and some other exclusive users of the commom app). All you have to do once you register for the common application is enter the teacher’s name and email adress in the common app and they will notify your teachers and ask them to write you a recommendation by giving them a way to access your application through another account. doing this will also allow you to track their progress and whether they have written a letter for you or not. hope that helps!</p>

<p>I called the admissions office-- in all cases, they much prefer electronic submission. You should do it online through the common app if possible.</p>

<p>Yeah, just send the have your teachers send the recs online. I did it last year when I applied.</p>
