online status questions

son submitted his app and when checked online status we had a couple of questions:

it says not complete but only things missing are combined program supplement (he is not applying for a combined program) and mid year report… not available yet… so that shouldnt affect his app status for due date of Jan 1???

and also, under suggested items it has an x (missing) under college transcripts… he is in highschool… but it lists 2 colleges… wright state and dayton???

one other question, son took 3 satII tests, but didnt send report as he had taken act with writing so satII werent required, wondering now if should have sent… all were above 740… we think they are on his hs transcript anyway. thoughts?

all were above 740!!! send them!!!

oops one was 730 not 740…

The Jan. 1 deadline is for those pieces of the application under the student’s control. The mid-year report is due only when it becomes available. (My d’s wasn’t available until 2 weeks after the deadline; it wasn’t an issue.)

Re colleges: Did he indicate on the application that he took a course at either or both of these schools? If not, then this is probably an error and you can call them next week to get it straightened out.

no he didnt indicate any college courses. no idea where those colleges came from

Did anybody send their teacher recommendations in through their common application

^^^^my son did

^ on the UoR status check did it show that your son’s teachers recommendation was received

yes, it shows 1 teacher recommendation received but i think he actually submitted 2?

My son’s school sent teacher recommendations through Naviance, which I believe uses the common app account (son was asked to provide common app acct for this purpose) to submit the letters electronically. u of R page took only two days after submission to acknowledge receipt. Their record keeping and online status system looks great.

son called, and now online status has removed the college transcripts and the combined program supplement (really quick on UR part) they werent sure where the college info came from? but mid year question, his school is on trimesters, should he send transcript now that shows just 1st or wait until mid feb to show 2 semesters?

I say send them as they come in. I’m sure they’d rather have something in hand before mid-Feb.

parent56… I apologize for not responding sooner (I was on vacation), but I’d be happy to answer any questions that you have. The truth is, the more information that we have to review as part of your son’s application, the better. That includes semester reports, SAT subject tests, etc. It is not necessary that you submit a report for each marking- period, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt, particularly if your son as done well.
