is it stupid just to apply to one college if you are almost positive you will get in? will they offer you less grants and financial aid even if you qualify for a scholarship? or should you put 1 or 2 others to make them want you more and in return so they give you more financial aid? (when they see your financial aid report)

…

It’s almost not stupid, in the same way that you are almost positive you won’t need an alternate plan.

are you being sarcastic or not? so are you saying only put 1 school down or not?

Depends on how sure you are that you will get in, and how willing you are to go to a community college if you don’t get in.

If you have a 3.8 GPA UW average and SAT scores of 2000+ and are applying to a school where 75% are accepted, then yes, it is okay.

But if you are 3.4 GPA UW average and SAT scores of 1600 and are applying to a score where the acceptance rate is 25% or less, then you are a bit crazy.

Since you didn’t list your grades, scores, ECs, or volunteer work–or anything about your school or the college you are applying to, we can’t help much.

Personally, I’d always apply to at least one safety (non-community college) school.

Good luck.
