only 1 week 1/2 for the decisions

From South Korea. I’m International student, and Northwestern is one of my reach schools and I really wish to be accepted! I applied to School of Communication.

What time of day did ED find out this year?

Don’t know, but last year RD decisions came out in the early evening EST.

ED decisions came out around 7ish (EST).

NU is a high match for me. Applied to Weinberg for psychology.
Antsy? Absolutely.

Just checked, and D’s e-mail came at 6:10 EST, but I have no idea if that’s relevant to this years’ RD. I hope it’s tomorrow, as I’m really eager to hear where D’s friends will be going.

Good luck everyone!!

do you mean 0610 EST or 1810 EST? AM or PM i guess is the real question.

pm. The waiting sucked.

Ughhhh I’m GMT which is thankfully only +4 hours now because we haven’t switched for Daylight Savings yet but waiting from 22:00-23:00 is still going to suck. Maybe it will be like WUSTL and we’ll just get an email out of no where. Maybe? Fingers crossed?

Does anyone know when NU admits found out in the previous couple years?

has northwestern sent out an email in advance saying “your decision will come on X date at Y o’clock” or does it just send out the decision whenever without telling you anything??

If ED is any example, you’ll get an e-mail with a link telling you that your decision is now available on-line. The e-mail itself won’t tell you what the decision is, which is nice if you are a parent and want to let you child be the first to hear their news.

I did some research on back years and their admit dates, and as far as I can tell these are correct:
2014: March 25, Thurs
2013: March 26, Thurs
2012: March 25, Tues

So maybe it’s the day, not the day of the week? Either way I’m banking on (well, hoping on!) either today or tomorrow as fitting in with the rest of the data, which might have changed this year bc of the increase of apps of course

Isaprilsoon (by the way, love the name), thanks for your awesome dead-thread detective work. Today or tomorrow certainly does look the most likely…

…Which is majorly freaking me out. Yikes!

I’m just glad to be on the west coast, so at least the email will come about when I get home from school.

You’re welcome! I’m freaking out! Northwestern would be a dream…and I just want news more than anything (hopefully good!)

If anyone finds out their decision, would you be willing to post it on this thread? I’ll be checking CC during every class period, haha :)

April - I know, now that my reach schools’ decisions are coming close closure is pretty much my main goal. Northwestern actually startled me, as I thought decisions would be coming far later (I guess that’s what happens when you just trust the posted deadlines). It’s just all so sudden!

Godot - I certainly will, though I’ll probably be the least useful person on this thread since my phone doesn’t get internet and my school doesn’t have WiFi. Everyone else, though, I’m sure will be watching their pwnsome smartphones like hawks. Or, uh, Wildcats. (Wow lame mascot humor.)

Chesers, I know what you mean–I did not expect to recieve any decision until later next week, so I am definitely on edge right now. All those months of waiting coming down to today/tomorrow…it’s kind of crazy.

I feel ya! I was just thinking about how crazy it was to wait for so long just for a simple yes or no answer. It’s sort of ridiculous…good luck guys! :)

Yeah, though it’s startling in a way it’s also kind of nice to get an earlier decision. I just hope that NU’s online “letter” isn’t one of those that give you a paragraph of “we had an excellent applicant pool” blah blah bah, before they mention your decision.

Though goodness knows that Northwestern’s been taciturn enough in the process so far that I’m almost expecting just a few lines out of them. :)

hahaha I know what you mean, the WUSTL acceptance letter started “Congratulations!” and that’s all I read before running around the house screaming my head off…I don’t think my poor nerves could deal with a paragraph of statistics before the decision!
