Only one leadership position?

I am Vice president (11) –> President (12) of Business club (one of four clubs that I am in). Will this lack of leadership hurt me?

possibly (10 char)

does the importance for admission of EC level of involvement vary across schools, or does NU require similar levels of EC involvement for all of it schools? I am thinking in particular of Maccormick ENG.

I can’t answer your question directly because I’m not an admissions officer and I don’t know the rest of your application. BUT, if you’re worried about not having enough leadership positions, could you spin any of your other ECs in a way that shows leadership in general? For example, I technically held only one leadership position during high school, but I talked about how I had also learned leadership skills in Link Crew and NHS in my essays/supplements.

Just something to think about.

Good luck! I definitely wouldn’t let this stop you from applying, btw, because it might not even be a big deal in the context of the rest of your app.

what if I have a high uw gpa, high class rank, good sat, State/National awards, and tons of community service? Will this still hurt me, or will everything balance out.

x, will WHAT hurt you? looks like you got all three elements of the app, grades, scores, and ECs. Is NU a college or a finishing school?

Having leadership positions help but they are not really expecting all that. Otherwise, NU wouldn’t have “Undergrad Leadership Program”. You are applying to colleges, not executive MBA programs.

Oh okay, I just hopee that a good and challenging academic background with being involved passionately in a few clubs and tons of community service is enough, because that is basically my app. Im doing very few things but I have stuck with them since freshman year and have done them consistently.
