have a question regarding financial aid.
So my parents were really behind the ball and for whatever reason decided to apply for aid, but we missed all of the deadlines except for the FAFSA meaning we only qualified for non-institutional aid. however, we do not know where to find this package even though i have been admitted. does anyone know where i can find it?
sorry if this is a dumb question.
the aid isn’t vital, fyi.
what aid are you looking for? If aid isn’t vital, it’s not likely that you qualified for any federally funded grant aid.
If you completed the FAFSA, and submitted it, you can take out a Direct Loan. Just call the financial aid office and ask them.
If your schools required the Profile, mand you did NOT complete it, you won’t receive any school based need based aid.
i’m not sure. for instance on WashU’s website it appeared as if submitting the FAFSA alone qualified one for some sort of aid, grant, or loan
ok, thanks for your help.
Wash U is a profile school. Their institutional aid is based on the info from the Profile.
Students completing the FAFSA only would ONLY be getting federally funded aid, not institutional aid. Federal funded aid could include a Pell Grant, SEOG, and Perkins Loans for low income students. And work study possibly for students with financial need. If you don’t have financial need, you would not be eligible for any of the these.
But every incoming freshman completing a FAFSA can get a $5500 Direct Loan.
