But I know that it’s the less rigorous of the two possible math tests - the equivalent of the SAT Math section. I had taken it because I wanted to get a test that I didn’t need to study too much for - I was rather busy the month I took it in.

However, during the month that I was scheduled to take the Math II test, I was hospitalized and missed that test, leaving me with only a Math I score.

Now, I was wondering if not taking the harder of the math tests would hurt me admissions-wise even though I scored an 800 on the easier one… should I take Math II in January?

I agree with Ailey, Math II would be stronger, but if it’s simply not possible for you to take it, don’t worry. I don’t think SAT II scores make you or break you–I didn’t take either Math Sat II and still got in. But there is a December Math II, so you might want to consider taking it then.

just to clarify - the issue isn’t Math II per se - the issue is that Math I is a weak SAT II to submit. So if you had Physics and Lit, or Bio and Chem, or any 2 ‘real’ SAT IIs, it would be fine, but Math I as one of the 2 is a prety weak offering, hence the advice
