Onstar and Driving Directions

Just bought a new car recently where we get 1 year free Onstar…

This week my 20 year old and 17 year old are going to attend a concert about 2 hours from home…20 year olds biggest driving trip alone…I’m going to give her my new car to drive because I’m figuring it’s more reliable plus has the OnStar…

I am not at all familiar with any direction giving device (except Mapquest  ) - how reliable is the Onstar navigation? Anything we should know before hand? Will the directions take in account construction ( i.e. in this area of the country, that means I-75 hell…)

Haven’t tried it out yet…I should probably do a “test” direction tomorrow with her to be sure.

Bump…anyone with OnStar???

I have Onstar, but I don’t use the navigation system that comes with it. My car came with a built in navigation system, but I subscribe to OnStar for safety purposes, such as keys locked in car, accident, etc.

Sorry I couldn’t help more.
