How selective are out-of-state admissions?

GPA:
W: 3.667
UW: 3.62

ACT: 31

E: 34, R: 31, M: 33, S: 27

Fairly below average EC’s.

^ Would that be good enough for OOS admissions?

The GPA is about .5 too low and you’re gonna need another 2 or 3 on your ACT

My son came from a VA school. The grading scale here in NOVA 100-93 A, 93- 90 B+, 89-85 B is very different than the FL grading scale. The DO know this. Also you need to use UF’s weighting of grades then say Fairfax county’s. Since Fairfax does NOT give extra weight to honors or pre-IB and only .5 to IB and to AP classes this may make a bigger difference to you.

UF takes all electives out–band, art, PE
All honors, IGSC and pre-IB add .5 to the grade (B would be a 3.5)
All AP, AICE and IB add a full point (B grade would be a 4.0)
All pluses and minuses are flat grades B+ is a B.

S had a UF 3.9 GPA, 32 ACT and 9 Varsity letters for ECs.
He also took 9 AP/AICE courses. They do look at class loads.

Hope this helps.

^ Very helpful, thanks
