oos residency thru employment

i am interested in establishing residency for tuition purposes. I have read the web site, and see that if you move to the state, and work 20 hours for 52 weeks, you can establish domicile. Has anyone here tried to establish residency this way, and if so, can you share your experience? I have read that people have bought homes to establish residency. The rule was recently changed and says that the student must be the sole owner. Getting a mortgage with a student financial statement will be impossible. Thus, I want to do it thru employment. Before I try, I need to know how difficult or easy it is. I am looking for any and all info from those who know…

Thanks

We bought a house a few years ago before the rule changed. Having to have the property solely in the students name will make it difficult for a young student to qualify. I would also be interested in hearing how OOS students are gaining residency now. Does the job route work? If so, what else do you need to do to support that route?

Can you put the house solely in the name of the student but the parent guarantees the debt?

not sure if that is possible.

Anyone have experience with the question asked here. I too was hoping to hear…
