I am active duty in the military and I have the opportunity to attend either a regional AASCB MBA program or an major state university with a top 30 operations management program. I probably won’t be in the work force for another eight years from now or 6 years after I finish either degree. With only military service as experience, which move makes the most sense?

not sure if it matters for the post, but my undergrad degree is in technical management and i have an associates degree in avionics systems technology and one in instruction of technology and military science. a brief description of my military duties: mid level enlisted management, community college of the air force instructor, and avionics maintenance technician.
also how do employers view enlisted military veteran mba/ms holders versus officers?

It really depends on what you want to do in the civilian world. I don’t know why you don’t just stay in the military and work your way up, unless you don’t like it. Overall I like the operations management degree idea better than an MBA, but again, it depends what you want to do.

oh i will stay in the military. the eight years i mentioned will bring me through 20 and straight to military retirement. what is it you like better about the ops management degree?
