opinion question-am i writing too much about my chinese heritage?

Hello!
Basically, here is the lowdown. I am writing my Common App Essay on my trip to China as a young child and its role in my identity. I am writing one supplement on my recent trip to China/Thailand/Korea to state my interest in East Asian Studies. Thus, would it be overload to write about The Second Book of Tao as another supplement? The book really gave me a lot to think about and gave me a glimpse of Chinese philosophy through a Western lens. It also allowed me to have deep conversations with my father on Taoism and the different facets of Eastern and Western Philosophy (which he actually knows a lot about-who knew!) Is that “Chinese heritage” overkill? Thanks!

If that’a what your essay is focusing on, I didn’t see anything inappropriate (you’re writing two different things in commonapp essay and supp), you’re supposed to write that much about your chinese heritage. My mere opinion, hope it helps.^^
