<p>Hi! I want to go to a school that has a physical therapy graduate school. It’ll be easier for me to get into their graduate school if I went for undergrad. I’m deciding between pre physical therapy and pre med , for medical school id like to go to SUNY downstate . I really like bigger schools but I’m not against going to a small school. On the common app I am considered half black and half white, and my home state is ny. If you have any suggestions plz let me know :D</p>

<p>Do you mean 30-40K range total or per year? If total, you should really check out the tuition and room and board at some of these schools, especially OOS. As a student you can only take out 5,500 in loans per year so you may need some cheaper schools or ones that would offer you some scholarships</p>
<p>Did you check the OOS costs of some of the public schools? Some may be over your price range. Maybe add in a couple of other SUNY schools such as SUNY Buffalo, SUNY New Paltz instead.</p>
<p>@happy1 @shawnspencer I meant per year sorry! And happy I’m trying to get out of ny, and SUNY new paltz is too small and I’ve heard bad things about buffalo, but in considering applying there . Preferably though id like to be out of state and hopefully after any scholarship money I may get from an out of state school the price drops </p>
<p>Have you run the NPCs (net price calculators) for these schools or looked into merit scholarship based opportunities? Out of state schools generally don’t give very good need-based aid. </p>
<p>The best option, if you are sure you want a physical therapy degree, is to target colleges with direct admit 6-year DPT programs. Otherwise, getting into PT graduate programs is highly competitive.</p>
<p>@Ranza123 @kidzncatz I don’t think I have the stats for an entry level 6 year program , and I had heard that you can only get your degree after bachelors now. But what schools have these programs ? And I was trying to stay away from programs because I’m not sure if I want to do premed or pre pt, and I know I can get into SUNY downstate physical therapy graduate program </p>
<p>I know someone who got into Nazareth’s 6 year program with similar stats to you. So it’s worth a shot. Although if you aren’t sure PT is the direction you want to head in, you may be better off just focusing on getting a bachelors for now. </p>
