Hi! I am a senior at an extremely competitive public high school in Southern California. I am applying ED2 to Vanderbilt after getting rejected from ED1 UPenn. I am also applying to UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UCSB, UCSD, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, NYU, Tufts, Swarthmore, USC, Vassar, and Washington University in St. Louis. Some schools I am conflicted whether to apply to is: Pomona College, Claremont McKenna College, and Dartmouth. I would love to hear your opinion on the schools I am applying to (or am considering)!! Also, it would be great to hear opinions on some good match/reach schools as well! Thank you so much!!

You def have a good shot but id also add some safeties to this list. btw some schools ur applying to basically require 2 SAT 2s nit just 1 also cornell has a full score send policy

Elite schools, with some exceptions, tend not to offer communication as a major. Opportunities in journalism, however, may nonetheless be abundant through extracurricular activities. With respect to your interest in English, you would find excellent choices among schools such as Vassar, Hamilton, Tufts, Kenyon, Denison, WUStL, Pomona, CMC, Pitzer, UCB. For a major in communication, choices such as NYU, Northwestern, USC and UCSD might appeal to you. For generally literary colleges, this article could be worth reading through: http://flavorwire.com/409437/the-25-most-literary-colleges-in-america.

You may want to consider some of the other schools in the Claremont consortium like Pitzer and Scripps. Occidental College maybe. I would think being a major media center like LA or New York would make sense for you.

From your listed group, Cornell also makes sense for you as a school to keep.
