Opinions on my transfer essay!

I’m trying to transfer from Fordham to Cornell, Lehigh, or UVA. I just wrote a draft of my essay, but I don’t feel very good about it. Please help and give any opinions, critiques, or advice; thanks!

-reasons for transferring and goals I hope to achieve

To say the least, my college experience thus far has been quite eventful. After looking forward to attending college for the greater part of high school, I entered Fordham University with verve and excitement. Unfortunately, the allure of my new life quickly faded, and I realized that Fordham could not offer me the experience I had always hoped for. As time passed, I became worried about my plight because I felt anxious and depressed due to a lack of connection with my school and peers and dissatisfaction with the school’s location in the Bronx. Nevertheless, I held myself together and finished the semester strongly, but I decided it would be best for both my well-being and finances to attend my community college in the spring. Although I started college off on the wrong foot, I refuse to be discouraged. Rather, I am confident that I will transfer to the perfect school for me, and achieve my goal of attending a top university.
I strongly believe that a college’s social aspects are just as important as its academic aspects. Of course, I want to attend a school with a strong academic reputation, but I also want to enjoy myself and connect with the student body. I always envisioned myself at a college with a great amount of spirit, and I would be happy if being a crazy fan with my peers is one of my main social activities. Sports have always been a big part of my life, but they were not a big part of Fordham life; therefore, I would be much happier at a school that loves and supports athletics as much as I do, and such a community would bring me happiness, motivation, and academic success. Furthermore, I want to be surrounded by an interesting, intelligent, and diverse student body that will challenge me to step out of my comfort zone and grow as an individual. For the most part, the students at Fordham were not very engaged in the classroom, and I believe that I can find a much more stimulating learning environment and obtain a rewarding education both in and out of the classroom.
As a member of Fordham’s Global Business Honors Program, I planned to become the best investment banker on Wall Street. However, unlike many of my classmates who always picked up the Wall Street Journal and discussed playing the school’s online trading game, I was not interest in finance. Yet, I realized that I have always been passionate about education, and after working as a tutor throughout high school, I believe that I would make a great educator. Therefore, I wish to attend a college that offers an education program or minor (something that Fordham does not have), and pursue a career in education.
By transferring, I hope to find the rewarding college experience I have always hoped for; I know that I will be passionate about my studies and make a great addition to any college campus.
