Went bed shopping last night and fell in love with the memory foam Select Comfort split top adjustable bed. (but not the price)

I need to relieve the pressure off my lower back and the combo of foam and air support seemed to work well (in the store). I also like the option to raise my head and feet by as little as 2 inches.

H thinks we need the massage upgrade, but to me it felt like one of those old motel beds with the coin slot next to the headboard. Store personnel claim it can keep circulation going if you are ever bedridden.

I am fearful of the negative online comments regarding quality and service.

I would appreciate any opinions or thoughts.

I have one of their midrange beds and just threw a foam topper on mine. I love it. Woke up with back pain for years on various other beds I’ve used, not once with this guy.

You should look to see if QVC is selling the mattress you’re interested in (or one close to it). Their prices are usually a bit cheaper. You can also sign up for Sleep Number’s mailing list as they put things on sale somewhat often.

We have had the king size select comfort for around 15 years. maybe more. All three of our kids have the twin size. Ours are the basic model and they work fine for all of us.I’m wondering how DS is going to adjust to a dorm mattress this fall. lol. I’m not sure I would spend the extra money on a foam top.

As far as customer service. After a number of years one of the beds started to leak. I called. They have a pretty good warranty. It didn’t cost much for a replacement air bladder. Now I will say first they sent a queen size instead of the twin size but when I called they then sent the right size to me.

sleep number beds are extremely expensive but extremely good. Go with the top of the line but wait until they have adequate financing (if you can). They have big sales around early September.
