Okay, so basically first semester I had all A’s… I go to a super competitive school that’s known for its rigor. However, this semester, although I managed to maintain higher A’s, I still have one B. :frowning: I’m super involved EC’s wise. I volunteer once a week at my religious center, I’m class president as well as an active member of 4 other clubs. I will be starting a sport next year, and I plan on spending my summer at the local food bank. I also play 3 instruments, and i’m very involved with our orchestra. Due to the nature of my school- this isn’t exactly anything special, and i’m dead afraid that one B will knock me out of the field. My dream school is Stanford, and I want to know my chances. All feedback is welcome, please and thank you!

Oh, and I’m a freshman. :)

You’ll be fine man. Relax and enjoy high school. You’re not going to do anything but stress your self if you’re worried about 3 years down the toad haha. Take it easy. Live it up. Don’t be so tight wound. Hell I don’t recall doing one homework assignment or project and I did all right. You’ll be fine buddy.

Should probably take up a sport though. I’m pretty lazy, and my 4 years of varsity wrestling saved me haha. It’s kind of ironic that I have a genius IQ (165) but only graduated with a 3.2. Can’t say I didn’t have fun though.

It was my plan to join the swim team, but in order to play a sport we have to take a class, and I already have 7 academic courses picked out for next year. :frowning: If I do non-comp throughout the year and make varsity as a junior would it be okay?
(Thanks for your advice though! I can feel myself slowly becoming a GPA obsessed robot!)

Yeah that’s fine, usually unless you’re a standout you don’t make varsity until your junior year regardless. You will do fine, you just need to relax a little, live in the moment, not too much but some. I’m sure you’ll get in to Stanford. Go Cardinal!
