Opinions?

Alright. So I washaving a convo with a friend, and it was interesting. But what I was wondering about is rather broad:

Should people be allowed to manipulate weather?

Should everyone know the basic chemistry of how the world works?
3 a. Do humans have too much power?
b. Do they deserve it (power)

*Do we have too much power over our surrondings. Do we know too much about stuff. For instance we have the power to destroy the earth right now? Do we deserve this knowledge? Or should we stop medling.
Power is referring to everything. Too much power over other animals. Over the world. Over other people. Over science.

Yes.

yes
3
A. Power over what?
B. Determining whether we “deserve” things requires another reference point, as in, something else “deserves” what we don’t “deserve”. Now what is that something else?

Also, no one cares if we’re “entitled” to it. As long as it doesn’t conflict with morals/cause harm for us.

WOLVERINE??

STORM???

XAVIER???

JUGGERNAUT???

MAGNETOooooooooo!!!

Alright so this seems basic, but I was wondering what you guys think.

1.Well if we manipulated weather it could be used in war, this could be bad. But if we learned to manipulate weather we could use it for rain to grow crops. In my opinion we figured out over the thousands of years we lived here how to use the weather to our advantage. For instance to channel rain water and flood water to crops, then we learned how to create wells, then pumps… maybe making it rain would just be another step? We worked hard in learning ways to do stuff like this? I am not asking if it is right. I am asking if it is line with manipulating other things to create what we need.

I think that everyone should know what they want. If someone wants to sit on their arse all day, watching tv, but never knowing how it works, I say let them. I think there is better things and more productive things to fill time, but it is their choice. I think the continuation of science research is personal, up to you, reguardless if you live on the planet.

Yes they have a lot of power. I am not sure if they deserve it morally. But scientifically the things we have discovered, we have worked at.

What other entity will have our “undeserved” power, then?
Since, they must “deserve” it more than us.

Morally, how does it conflict with the “morals”.

Well, whatever humans do they do, no matter what morals are or anything.

Well morally we might kill people with the power over weapons, (we have too much power in weapon making, perhaps). We may not do the moral and just things with our power, but I feel scientifically we did earn it.

Power over what, btw.

Anyway my opinion is that we are just moving down, advancing, evolving, learning etc. Maybe we are too big for our britches… but idk.

What is bad about that.
The universe goes on whether we are advancing or not.
Nature will destroy us eventually, this is all a pursuit of safety in the eventualities before us.

Certain capable scientists should be able to manipulate the weather in predetermined confined spaces. No one else.

There are a lot of things I think people should know.
3a. Yes
3b. It seemed inevitable. We would have to choose to limit ourselves.

theReach made a good point lol. I also thought those things.

No. Because “good” is a point of view, so many people would be furious if they found out that only a handfull of people were controlling it in a “good” way.

Yes.

No. Knowledge is power. So, basically, for us to have too much power means that we shouldn’t be as smart as we are.

Mehh, to be honest I don’t think it matters, since people aren’t going to care if they “deserve” it or not.

Better question is can everybody (or anybody) really understand the way the world works chemically. It’s not that simple, and “everyone” tends not to be a particularly intelligent grouping.

Sure. For the sake of the poor african kids dying from lack of water.

If they intend to live in this world, yes.
3 a. Not really, humans are rather fragile. 1 bullet in the head and boom
b. By they you mean me? sure, I dont see why not

Possibly so is my answer to everything

^ I actually laughed out loud!
