My son is an admirer of Bobby Jindal. After a recent visit to a top LAC, he was most impressed that a student had worked as a speechwriter for Gov. Jindal last summer. So I suggested that he might want to move Tulane higher on his list of colleges. This based on the idea that he might be able to do volunteer work or maybe some sort of internships with Jindal. Now I know that it’s about an hour and a half from Tulane to the capital, so it’s not the same as asking about Georgetown students having a chance to connect with some congressman. But I figure it’s worth throwing the question out there anyway.

What are the normal opportunities that Tulane students have to get involved in government and political activities during their undergraduate years? And specifically, what about the Governor’s office?
