Opportunity to jeer at a rather sketchy app

<p>So I’d like to go to Middlebury, Reed, Grinnell, Carleton, or, as an absurd reach, Amherst.
Ha. Ha ha ha. Silly girl.
Here’s me:</p>

<p>ACT: 32 (27 in math, 31 science, 34 reading, 36 english)
SAT subject: 720 in lit, 760 in US
Have not taken the SAT yet, but am anticipating that math won’t be so pathetic–the ACT math score was due to not taking math for a year…
APs: Euro as a sophomore, 5. Took Bio, Lang, and US this year…not sure how they went, bah. Next year I’ll be taking AP Chinese, AP Calc, AP Lit.
ECs: Mock trial, cross country, knowledge bowl, history day, went to nationals for a debate competition…
I work on my family’s farm regularly and volunteer with the Department of Natural Resources.
As a senior, I’ll be living in China on a foreign exchange program.
I’ve gone to four schools in four years, which is why my ECs are lackluster…oh well…</p>

<p>Also, my weighted GPA is 4.6 and I’m ranked #8 out of 400.</p>

<p>You can get into any of those schools, especially with the year in China thing.
If you explain to them that you move a lot they will understand the EC thing.
Oh, and do you do any creative writing or anything? Because those schools (particularly Aherst) are big on writing and submitting a writing supplement could probably help your chances.

<p>Reed, Carleton and Amherst are all incredible schools, and I am sure that you will get into at least one of the mentioned! </p>

<p>Don’t be too hard on yourself, and really, the worst that colleges can say is “no.”</p>

<p>Seriously… Believe in yourself!
You can get in all of these schools if you really want. Show your passion for something (maybe law). People may correct me if i am wrong but if you get better scores, with your stats, i would also aim higher. Maybe apply for some ivies (just for the sake of applying - maybe you’ll get in). But do not ever forget of safeties.

<p>Really, you have great ACT and subject scores, and by no means are they “sketchy.” </p>

<p>Trust in your own abilities and write a kick-butt essay! Show them who your really are!</p>
