Optional Report

On my midyear report, I had a D for APUSH, but that was due to a mistake my teacher and I both made. He requested a grade change, but by then, my counselor had already sent in the mid year report. She said she could submit an optional report with the updated grades (I have a B now…), and I asked her which report would take precedence in the admissions process. She said that the colleges will look at the updated grades and disregard the former. However, I am not convinced. Can anyone tell me whether or not colleges will judge me on the D I got rather than the updated grade? Will this impact me in any way?

Thank you!

I’m sort of in your same boat. Incorrect ACT scores were included on my transcript. I know that colleges only look at official ACT score reports, but this would make them think that I took the ACT 5 times. I had my counselor fix this and put up my latest transcript. I doubt that the colleges will check older transcripts, but it’s safe to just send a quick, friendly email to your admissions counselor describing your situation.

Why do you think colleges would ignore an updated report that stated there was mistake in grading? If that’s the case then why would you go there?
