Sorry if this is a dumb question… I’ve registered for my fall classes already but how do I know what textbooks to buy for those classes?

I’m currently taking a summer course at OCC and I actually didn’t get the textbook until 2 weeks into class, after the teacher had announced in class what book we would be using (shipping took awhile). But many people already had their textbooks on the first day of class.

Where can I find the name of the textbooks that will be used in my classes? It’d be great if I could get used to the book and have the book before classes start. I’ve searched everywhere and I can’t seem to find it!

Sometimes teachers don’t list the books necessary ahead of time (and tell the class on the first day), others make it easier and list which books are necessary. If books aren’t entered yet for your class, check later on this summer.

Also, one more question: I’m taking English A101 but the teacher is “Staff”. Do all English A101 courses use the same textbooks in general? Or do teachers often choose different textbooks?

@4kidsdad: Thank you for the concern! I bought the textbook a few days after the teacher announced what book we would be using (I was looking for the best price) and then shipping took awhile as well.

I had no issue with having no book for the short time period, however. My course just required the textbook simply for its online quizzes, so I just used the library’s copy until I received my copy. My course is ending in a few days, so all’s good. But thank you for the concern!
