So is it a good idea or a bad idea to wear an orange sweater to a Princeton alumni interview tomorrow?

If I do wear it, I won’t even mention it to my interviewer… “Do you like the orange sweater?” But would simply wearing it without even alluding to the fact that I purposely wore Princeton colors still be overkill?

Don’t bring attention to it if you do it. If you mention it yourself, it’ll look dumb (no offense). But if you wear it and the interviewer notices, it’ll be cute. If the interviewer doesn’t notice it, don’t say anything.

Are you sure you look good in an orange sweater? It’s a tough color to pull off…

at my interview i wore a black sweater with an orange shirt under it and although i felt a little halloween-ish i think my interviewer liked it.

have you talked to your interviewer on the phone or through e-mails?
i talked to my interviewer on the phone before i met up with him and i could tell he wasnt uptight or anything, he was really goofy. so i knew that if he noticed it he would think it was cool!

thats just my experience though. i think you have to decide what to do based on what kind of person you think your interviewer is. i dont think it will hurt you though.

I don’t think it’s a a big deal, but your posting this on CC suggests that you are at least slightly uncomfortable with the idea, so I would say that you shouldn’t wear it - wear something that you would be completely comfortable (physically and otherwise) wearing.
